How have fans and critics reacted to Godzilla: King of the Monsters?

IGN’s Terri Schwartz was one of the first writers to review the film, stressing how the movie “promises a showdown between Godzilla and King Ghidorah, and it absolutely delivers over and over again”.

Terri later tweeted that she was fortunate enough to catch an early screening of the film in Tokyo, and it goes without saying that the latest installment appears to be the best one in the series.

Schwartz continued: “As someone who is not by any means a Godzilla[…] if you’re looking for some Kaiju-on-Kaiju action, you won’t be disappointed.

“Though there are humans in the story to help move the plot along, they are rightly there to support the greater conflict at play”.

Collider’s editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub seemed delighted to report positive feedback on the film after having famously trashed 2014’s Godzilla.

Steven took to Twitter, sharing: “Had real issues with godzilla. The movie was called Godzilla but he was barely in it. Thankfully Mike Dougherty’s Godzilla King of the Monsters is awesome.

“It’s everything I wanted last movie to b but wasn’t. If u want to see Godzilla fighting other monsters u will b happy”.

He further added that fans will definitely appreciate the amount of work that went behind the graphics, stressing that the movie has a solid storyline with superb visual effects.

“Also the VFX in Godzilla are insane. I’m so impressed with what Mike Dougherty did with the material and monster battles and can’t wait to see it again.

If you weren’t looking forward to the new GodzillaMovie it’s time to buy tickets.

Dan Casey, who is the creative director at Nerdist, continued with the Twitter reviews, insisting that he hadn’t had this much fun watching an action movie in the cinema.

Not only that, but Dan also thinks that the newest Godzilla film is one of the best flicks in the Monsterverse line-up of movies. It’s simply that great.

He writes: “Godzilla: King of the Monsters rules so goddamn hard. Easily the most fun I’ve had in theaters all year and the best Monsterverse entry yet.

“The scale is mind-boggling & every action scene could be your new desktop wallpaper. See it on the biggest screen possible. ~GodzillaMovie”.
